BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— BBVA Compass Bowl has partnered with Dreamland Bar‐B-Que to add five Dreamland kiosks to the concession stands at Legion Field for the BBVA Compass Bowl played Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at noon. The stadium menu includes barbecue nachos and pulled pork sandwiches.
“We appreciate the cooperative effort to make Dreamland Bar-B‐Que available to Houston and Vanderbilt fans at the 2014 BBVA Compass Bowl,” said Mark Meadows, BBVA Compass Bowl Executive Director. “Visitors to our state will now have an opportunity to discover why Dreamland Bar‐B-Que is so popular with fans of football and barbecue everywhere!”
Vanderbilt and Houston fans will also get to sample Dreamland’s signature smoked sausage on Friday, January 3rd, during the BBVA Compass Street Fest and Pep Rally at historic Five Points South. From 2‐8 p.m., Dreamland will distribute “free banana pudding” vouchers redeemable at the Southside Birmingham location. A complimentary shuttle service will take fans from the Street Fest to Dreamland Bar‐B‐Que and back.
At 4:30 p.m., during the Street Fest, six finalists will compete in the Dreamland Ultimate Fan Rib Eating Contest. Prequalified contestants will compete against each other and the clock. The object is to eat four Dreamland ribs in the least amount of time. The contestant that cleans four rib bones of all attached meat first will win the Dreamland Ultimate Fan Package. To sign up for the contest, fans can visit the Dreamland tent at the Street Fest.
The BBVA Compass Street Fest is free and open to the public and features live music, the BBVA Compass Kids Zone and food and beverages for the whole family. The fun starts with Groove Daddy playing live on the Miller Lite stage from 2-4:30 pm.
